presence of toxic chemicals in high enough concentrations to be risk to
human health,
SOURCES 0F SOIL POLLUTION
ACID RAIN
• Acid rain is caused by air
pollution .The acidic water
falls in the soil and pollutes
it by making the soil acidic.
It also removes the
minerals and nutrients
from the soil .
DEFORESTATION
• Deforestation refers to removal of a forest or trees for human
purposes.
• Once the land is converted into a dry or barren land, it can never be
made fertile again.
• So it loosens the soil .
Toxic fertilizers and pesticides
• Since , the demand of food has increased for the faster growth of
crops harmful fertilizers and pesticides are used. It contaminate and
make the soil poisonous.
