Exploration: Group Activity
Exploration: Group Activity

What are the standards to

be followed while
performing the
experiments?
Exploration: Group Activity
Explanation: Discussion

Which mixtures can you not

distinguish the components?
What type of mixture have you
formed? Why?
Based on the activity what
conclusion can you make from it?
Explanation: Generalization

Colloids are heterogeneous

mixtures with intermediate
particle size between a solution
and a suspension. Colloid
particles may be seen in a
beam of light such as dust in
the air in a shaft of sunlight.
Explanation: Generalization

Colloid is a special kind of mixture

that contains very tiny particles
that cannot be seen by the unaided
eye. The tiny particles do not settle
down. Instead they move rapidly and
collide with or bump each other.
This motion of the tiny particles is
called Brownian Motion.
Explanation: Generalization

Dispersed colloid particles scatter

light, a phenomenon called Tyndall
Effect. Tyndall Effect can be used
to determine the amount of colloid
particles in suspension.
ELABORATION: Application

Let us have a game. Guess the jumbled

letters on the monitor. Then Tell if they
are, colloid, suspension or solutions.

mecrea
syrup
cream
yolla
clouds
dslocu
rupsy
alloy
wine

ELABORATION: Values Integration

Learning to adapt with the

different attitudes and culture of
other people enables us to be one
of them.
What do you think is the meaning
of No man is an island?
Evaluation

Fill in the blanks with the

correct word/words you have
learned this day.
Evaluation

Journal Writing
Today I have learned about c_________d.
It is a heterogeneous mixture where
particles may be seen in a
b____________t such as dust in the air
in a shaft of sunlight.
The particles move rapidly and ________e
with or bump each other. This movement is
called ______n.
Evaluation

Journal Writing
Meanwhile, I also learned that
Concentrated colloids are often
c________y or o______e. Lastly, I
learned that _______________t can be
used to determine the amount of colloid
particles in suspension.
Assignment

List ten colloids you can find

at home or even at school.
Write a short song about it.
