VERIFIERS

REGISTRATION OF ASSESSORS & VERIFIERS

An assessor may be a:
1. Trainer in a training institution
2. Workplace trainer
3. Skilled worker
4. Supervisor in industry
NOTE
 Assessors may be internal or external. Internal
assessor is a trainer while external assessor is
a registered expert in a specific skill area.
REGISTRATION OF ASSESSORS &
VERIFIERS
 Verifiers may be internal or external.

 An internal verifier is a trainer in the

institution who is an expert in the field being
assessed, more experienced and qualified than
the internal assessor.

 An external verifier may be an expert worker

in industry or a trainer from a different
institution/organization.
PROCESS FOR REGISTRATION OF ASSESSORS &
VERIFIERS
1. Application to the Council using the
prescribed form
2. Induction training for selected
assessors and verifiers
3. Demonstration of competency in
developing assessment tools
4. Registration of successful
assessor/verifier and entry into the
CDACC database
Criteria for Registration of Verifier
1.Hold a recognized qualification accepted by
TVET CDACC in the skill area being assessed.
2.Have at least three years verifiable practical and
current work experience in the skill area being
assessed.
3.Have attained a qualification at least one level
higher than the level being assessed
4.Undertaken training recognized by TVET
CDACC as assessor/verifier
5.A member of the respective professional body
where applicable.
NOTES ON REGISTRATION OF ASSESSORS

The same criteria as for verifier is applied

except criteria 2 where an assessor is
exempted from the requirement of 3 years
experience.
However, for one to be engaged by TVET
CDACC as an external assessor s/he must
have current experience of at least three
years just like a verifier (whether internal
or external)
