WHAT IS A FALL PROTECTION?

 It is the use of controls designed to protect

workers from falling or in the event they do
fall, to stop them without causing severe
injury. Falls from heights, even relatively low
elevations can result in serious injury or death.
 OSHA requires that fall protection be
provided at elevations of four feet in general
industry workplaces, five feet in shipyards,
six feet in the construction industry and
eight feet in longshoring operations.
