HISTORY
 Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) was founded in 1968 by a
division of Tata Sons Limited.
 In 1981, TCS established India's first dedicated software research and
development center, the Tata Research Development and Design Center
(TRDDC) in Pune.
 In 2005 TCS became the first India based IT services company to enter
into the bioinformatics market. May 2013 TCS was awarded a six-year
contract worth over INR 1100 crores to provide services to the Indian
Department of Posts.
 July 2014. TCS became the first Indian company To cross the Rs 5
lakh crore mark in market capitalization.

One of the largest clients of TCS is General Electric. General electric group
accounts for around 15-20% of TCS revenues.
Other important and famous clients of TCS which I have heard of are
Cisco, Vodafone, British Telecom, SBI, Experian, Tata McGraw Hill, JP Mo
rgan, Citibank, 
WallMart, Nokia, Royal Bank of Scotland and the list goes on and on.
TCS has more than 1500 clients across the globe, out of which half of them are
smaller clients falling under $1 million. It has around 50-60 clients in $50
million bracket and around 25 clients in $100 million bracket.
