Holy God, we praise Thy Name;
Lord of all, we bow before Thee!
All on earth Thy scepter claim,
All in Heaven above adore Thee;
Infinite Thy vast domain,
Everlasting is Thy reign.
Hark! the loud celestial hymn
Angel choirs above are raising,
Cherubim and seraphim,
In unceasing chorus praising;
Fill the heavens with sweet
accord:
Holy, holy, holy, Lord.
Lo! the apostolic train
Join the sacred Name to hallow;
Prophets swell the loud refrain,
And the white robed martyrs follow;
And from morn to set of sun,
Through the Church the song goes
on.
Holy Father, Holy Son,
Holy Spirit, Three we name
Thee;
While in essence only One,
Undivided God we claim Thee;
And adoring bend the knee,
While we own the mystery.
Thou art King of glory, Christ:
Son of God, yet born of Mary;
For us sinners sacrificed,
And to death a tributary:
First to break the bars of death,
Thou has opened Heaven to
faith.
From Thy high celestial home,
Judge of all, again returning,
We believe that Thou shalt come
In the dreaded doomsday morning;
When Thy voice shall shake the
earth,
And the startled dead come forth.
Therefore do we pray Thee, Lord:
Help Thy servants whom,
redeeming
By Thy precious blood out-poured,
Thou hast saved from Satan’s
scheming.
Give to them eternal rest
In the glory of the blest.
Spare Thy people, Lord, we pray,
By a thousand snares
surrounded:
Keep us without sin today,
Never let us be confounded.
Lo, I put my trust in Thee;
Never, Lord, abandon me.
Purihin ang Panginoon,
Umawit ng kagalakan,
At tugtugin ang gitara
At ang kaaya-ayang lira.
Hipan ninyo ang
trumpeta.
Sa ating pagkabagabag,
Sa Diyos tayo'y tumawag.
Sa ating mga kaaway,
Tayo ay Kanyang
iniligtas!
Purihin ang Panginoon,
Umawit ng kagalakan,
At tugtugin ang gitara
At ang kaaya-ayang lira.
Hipan ninyo ang
trumpeta.
Ang pasaning mabigat,
Sa ‘ting mga balikat.
Pinagaan ng lubusan
Ng Diyos na
Tagapagligtas!
Purihin ang Panginoon,
Umawit ng kagalakan,
At tugtugin ang gitara
At ang kaaya-ayang lira.
Hipan ninyo ang
trumpeta.
Faith of our fathers, living still
In spite of dungeon, fire and sword,
O how our hearts beat high with joy
Whene’er we hear that glorious
word!
Faith of our fathers! holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death!
Our fathers, chained in prisons dark,
Were still in heart and conscience free;
And blest would be their children’s
fate,
If they, like them should die for thee:
Faith of our fathers! holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death!
Faith of our fathers, we will strive
To win all nations unto thee;
And through the truth that comes from
God
Mankind shall then indeed be free.
Faith of our fathers! holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death!
Faith of our fathers, we will love
Both friend and foe in all our strife,
And preach thee, too, as love knows
how
By kindly words and virtuous life.
Faith of our fathers! holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death!
Amen.
Epistle
Romans
12:1-2.9-19
The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be
to God.
You have received
the Spirit which
makes us God’s
children, and in that
Spirit we call God
our Father.
The Lord be with you.
And with
your spirit.
A reading from the Holy Gospel
according to St. Matthew
Glory to
You, O Lord.
Gospel
Matthew
6:9-13
Praise to
You, Lord
Jesus Christ.
Prayer of
Reparation for the
Sin of Sacrilege
and Blasphemy
Lord Jesus Christ,
Son of the Living God,
out of love for us,
your sinful creatures,
you became man and
sacrificed your life on
the cross.
You deserve nothing but
gratitude, honor, and
praise, yet there are
people, who by a
misguided use of
freedom, ridicule your
Divine Person
and the person of your
Mother by desecrating
your sacred images and
mocking the prayer that
you yourself had taught
us and call their work
“art”.
We are profoundly
shocked and
ashamed, Lord Jesus,
and so we kneel
before your Divine
Majesty
to beg the pardon of
your merciful and
forgiving heart for the
mindless blasphemy
committed against
you.
We are filled with
indignation against
the perpetrators, but
you have taught us to
forgive as you have
forgiven us.
Whether they know
or know not what
they were doing,
we pray for them:
Lord Jesus, grant them the
grace of true repentance
and open their minds to
what is noble and
beautiful, to what is
edifying and respectful of
other people’s beliefs.
We also pray for ourselves:
Lord Jesus, grant us the grace
to live like real Christians,
so that we may become your
unblemished images and
living witnesses to your love
and forgiveness.
Lord,
have mercy.
Christ,
have mercy.
Lord,
have mercy.
Ama namin,
sumasalangit ka,
sambahin ang
ngalan mo,
mapasaamin ang
kaharian mo,
sundin ang loob mo
dito sa lupa para
nang sa langit.
Bigyan Mo po
kami ngayon ng
aming kakanin
sa araw-araw,
at patawarin
mo kami sa
aming mga sala
para nang
pagpapatawad
namin sa
nagkakasala sa
amin.
At huwag mo
kaming ipahintulot
sa tukso, at iadya
mo kami sa lahat
ng masama.
