Sloth

What is it?
Sloth live in Central America and northern South America , including parts of Brazil and Peru. A adult
sloth is about 2 to 2.5 feet (0.6 to 0.8 meters) long . It’s one of the slowest animal in the world . It spend
15 to 20 hour per day for sleep . And surprisingly enough , sloths are excellent swimmers. It can swim
around 13 meters a minute in the water. It eats leaves, twigs , insects and bird’s eggs.
What’s the problem?
Sloth is now in danger and it’s very rare .The population of sloth is only between 500 to 1,500. Due to
habitat loss, sloths are coming down to the ground more frequently , and are therefore vulnerable to dog
attack, car strikes, and poaching.
How can we help?
You can donate or symbolically adopt a sloth at Saving Sloths Together Foundation. If you live within a
sloth’s natural range you can plant some tree.
