How would you define Climate Change?

Code: 1266 8876

3
What is Climate Change?

Climate change refers to long-term

shifts in temperatures and weather
patterns. These shifts may be natural,
such as through variations in the solar
cycle.
What is Climate Change?

But since the 1800s, human

activities have been the main driver
of climate change, primarily due to
burning fossil fuels like coal, oil
and gas.
What is the greenhouse effect?

What is the greenhouse effect?
Which ones are the GreenHouse
Gases?
Atmospheric CO₂ is higher than at any time in the last
800,000 years.

What is energy?

Scientists define energy as the ability to do work. Modern

civilization is possible because people have learned how to
change energy from one form to another and then use it to do
work. People use energy to walk and bicycle, to move cars along
roads and boats through water, to cook food on stoves, to make
ice in freezers, to light our homes and offices, to manufacture
products, and to send astronauts into space.
Types of energy

The energy we use it mainly for

electricity, transportation and
heating.
Types of sources of energy

Non - renewable

- Coal
- Natural Gas
- Petroleum
- Nuclear
Types of sources of energy

Renewable

- Hydro
- Solar
- Wind (inland & offshore)
- Biomass
- Geothermal
- Energy from the movement of
the ocean (tidal & wave)
Rank these sources of energy from the cleanest to the
dirtiest?

17
Brief overview of the transition of the
countries
Why the energy transition is such a challenge?

Code: 4677 8353

20
Why is a very hard task
- Diverse sources of clean energy
- It requires energy storage
- Improve efficiency
- Smarter systems
- Better connections with neighboring countries
What makes up energy
sustainability?
World energy trilemma index
Best countries on the world
Best countries on the world by category
What is happening now?

- Due to the war Russia – Ukraine there is a change of

direction

- Humanisisng energy
Opportunities for the future

- There is a lot space for improvement

- Research is key
- Also, make the research commercial
- What about the mining and the end use of all this electrical components

Space in this industry for:

- Engineers
- Politicians
- Economics
- Scientists
& more
