 Who is eligible?
• This year, we are offering these prestigious student
leadership roles to Y10 students
• In the past, Y11 have been our student leaders, but
we want to offer you this ambitious opportunity
• We think Y10 are old enough and mature enough to
be able to take on these roles, which come with
considerable responsibility! We’re sure you’re up to
it and will prove this to us!

our school
• You’ll get work experience in a chosen area of the school
• You’ll get experience of taking responsibility and time
management
• You’ll contribute positively to the life of the school

• You’ll get valuable experience you can use on your CV
when you apply for college or part time jobs

 What roles are on offer?
• Department Student Leader
• Work alongside the Head of Department/subject teachers to support them
with admin tasks, displays, photocopying
• Support that department at Open Evenings or other events outside the
school day
• The exact nature of the role will vary by department. Talk to the Head of
Department you are interested in working with if you want to find out more
• You might work 1-2 lunchtimes per week, 1 morning before school or 1
night after school, by negotiation with the Head of Department and
depending on what suits
• Student Leader for Events and Community Engagement
• Work along the Senior Leadership Team and the support teams at whole
school events, for example Presentation Evening, Progress Evenings,
Concerts and Shows
