What is Compliment?

Compliment is a nice statement/remark you


say to other people, telling them that they look
nice or they have done something well.
What is Compliment?

• Compliment are mainly used to maintain


interpersonal relations. It makes the receiver
happy and confident.

• Compliment reassure other people that their taste,


appearance, etc., is appreciated.
“How to Give Compliment”

• When someone accomplished something


successfully, you may say “Excellent!, or “Well,
Done!”
• When you notice something specific in other
people’s appearance and you like it, you may say
“Your hair is gorgeous!”
• When you think his or her general appearance is
stunning, you can tell them “Wow, you really
look great, today!”
• When you visit someone’s house for the first time
and want to compliment them , just say “ What a
nice house!”

Most people feel awkward or confused when it


comes to congratulating someone. These are some
expression that you can use to complementing
someone :

“Writing a Letter of
Compliment”

Some People feel unlucky when it comes to congratulating


someone but they can not say it directly. Do not worry, you
could still congratulating someone by text. These are a the way
on writing a letter of compliment :

 Mention the reason why you are complimenting or praising


the receiver.

Examples : - Congratulation on getting funding for the next


phase of development.
- I was impressed by the way you handled the
the football team.

 Acknowledge positive personal qualities or specific efforts.

Examples: - You always manage to meet each deadline


with high quality work.
- You have a way of explaining thing that is

ADJECTIVE

An adjective is a word or set of words that modifies


(i.e., describes) a noun or pronoun. Adjectives may come
before the word they modify.
Example :
• That is a beautiful necklace
• What a nice house you have.

Adjectives may also follow linking verb: appear, be,


become, feel, get, go, grow, look, prove, remain, seem,
smell, sound, stay, taste, turn.

Example :
• You look greet today
• I am happy that you like it
• Don’t be angry to het

An exclamation is something you say or

pleasure. Exclamation are often constructed
with ‘how’ and ‘what’. Negative question form
are also common.

 Exclamation with “How”


(How + adjective/adverb + subject + verb)
Ex : - How cold it is
- How beautifully she sings!

(What + a/an (adjective) + Singular Countable Noun)
Ex : - What a lovely song!

We use what + Adjective before an uncountable /
plural noun :
