● There is increasing competition for individuals with skillsets needed for Tesla’s business, including
specialized knowledge of electric vehicles, software engineering, manufacturing engineering and electrical
and building construction expertise. At the basic/entry level a person is expected to at least be a graduate
with the sufficient knowledge on the above mentioned topics.
● An employee is expected to reach Senior executive level in first 2 years of his work. The criteria for
becoming a manager takes innovation, team handling abilities and performance as an executive as main
parameters.​
● Additionally, professional degree in management is required in order to qualify as a manager.
● Tesla promotes organic growth culture and it prefers internal promotion to fill its middle and higher
management roles. Performance and innovation remains the main deciding parameters of internal
promotion.​
