MODAL VERBS
For grade X, we are going to study these following group pf modal verbs:
I. can vs. cannot (can’t)

You can go home now. It is allowed.

We can meet in the library after school. It is possible.

I can’t go out after 10 p.m. It is not possible.

The kids can’t watch TV after 10 p.m. It is not allowed.

II. have to / has to vs. don’t / doesn’t have to

I have to write this essay for tomorrow. It is necessary.

She has to practice playing the piano everyday. It is necessary.

We don’t have to wear uniforms at my school. It is not necessary.

He doesn’t have to bring a girlfriend to the party. It is not necessary.
