Background of the study:
Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a crucial diagnostic tool used in healthcare settings to assess the electrical
activity of the heart and detect abnormalities. It plays a vital role in the diagnosis and management of
various cardiac conditions. As B.Sc nursing students, acquiring knowledge and developing competency in
interpreting ECGs is essential for providing safe and effective patient care.
Objectives :
• Determine the pre test and post test level of
knowledge and practice score of BSc nursing
students regarding Electrocardiogram (ECG).

• Evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching
program on knowledge and practice of BSc nursing
students regarding ECG.
• To assess the association between the pre test level
of knowledge and practice score with selected
sociodemographic variables.
