PREPARING TO WRITE A PAPER

1. First understand what is required – read the instructions carefully,


make note of each of the key words
e.g. Discuss the concept of religious belief’s social scientific
perspectives addressing issues of societal change
2. Write up a bullet point outline how you will structure the paper

3. Search for supporting articles – NEVER just type search words into
Google – ALWAYS begin with the required or recommended readings
of the lecturer, then Search using a database, e.g. Google Scholar

4. Make an annotated bibliography of each article as you read it.
