INTRODUCTION

MY TOWN PALLATANGA
The Pallatangas, the firstborn of this land, were influenced by cultures such as Panzalea, Laus í, Ca ñari and Yaguachi.
The best testimony of this glorious past is in the pucar á de San Nicol ás and in the tolas de los Llanos.
Pallatanga, in the Inca period, was linked to T úpac Yupanqui and Huayna C ápac.
During the conquest, the Pallatanga - Chimbo route saved the conquerors from virtual extermination by General
Rumiñahui's troops. This alternative route made it easier for Sebasti án de Benalc ázar to conquer the Kingdom of Quito.
In colonial times it had endless jungles of cinchona, the product of which was sent to Europe. Likewise, its gold and
silver mines rivaled the best in Peru.
The Spanish, likewise, established the first cane plantations and the first sugar mills. Which was one of the finest and
most esteemed products of that time.
Finally, on May 13, 1986, and led by Luis Cadena, with the unconditional support of Norman Tufi ño, Januario Mu ñoz,
Pancho Romero, Franklin Muñoz, Luis Granizo and Rafael Romero E., as well as the support of their representative
forces, they made possible the desired cantonization.
The history of Pallatanga is nuanced with economic and social aspects, customs, popular characters, legends, traditions,
celebrations, men of culture and art, crafts, religious sports and events that moved the people.
All this constitutes the History of Pallatanga, the backbone of our origin and our roots.
