THE STUDY
04 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The Covid-19 pande mic has le d to a shift in teac hing a nd lea rning me thods,
with many countrie s transitioning from tra ditional c las srooms to online
learning. However, the question remains whethe r online le arning is more
effic ient and e ffec tive than tra ditional c la ss room instruction. Tra ditional fac e-
to-fa ce learning provide s imme diate interac tion with tea chers a nd pee rs , w hile
online le arning may rely on asynchronous c ommunic ation. System outage s and
technical difficulties c an hinder the smooth de live ry of online lessons ,
affecting students' ability to ac cess materials, partic ipate in discussions, a nd
atte nd live se ssions . O nline le arning also requires s tudents to take more
responsibility for their own le arning a nd ma nage their time effec tive ly.

The Philippine s ranks 77th among countries with the slowest and least
stable internet c onnection, highlighting the challenges faced by
students in virtual le arning. The digital divide among Filipino students
and the lack of adequate preparedness for virtual learning can lead to
numerous challenge s during virtual classroom education. A survey
conducted by B aticulon et al. (2020) revealed that students faced
numerous barriers during the COVID-19 pandemic, including factors
such as gender, age, ye ar level, annual income, academic standing,
internet access, and prior hours spent on online learning.

D istractions in online cla sses can lead to a lack of interest in the online
learning experience. To overcome these challenges, students need to
develop effective strategies for self-regulation and time management.
Setting dedicated study spaces, minimizing distractions, and establishing
a structured routine c an help students maintain focus and engagement
during online cla sses. Educators can create interactive and engaging
online learning environments that foster student participation and
motivation. By addre ssing these factors, students can navigate potential
c hallenges and mainta in their interest and commitment to online learning.
CHAPTER 3
RESEARCH DESIGN
• This research examines the impact of online learning
on junior high school students at Our Lady of
Lourdes Academy Bacoor Cavite, Inc. It investigates
its effects on psychological well-being, including
stress levels, academic motivation, self-esteem, and
social connectedness. A quantitative research design
will be used to gather empirical data, with 34
students participating in surveys.
RESPONDENTS OF THE
STUDY
• The respondents of the study were teenagers who were
aged 12-17. The teenagers were composed of Filipino
teens who came from the Province of Cavite and its
surrounding provinces. However, the 4 researchers of
this study were Grade 10 Level, which means that there
would be only 5 respondents, the test questionnaires
will not be reliable for the researcher because they
made the questionnaire on their own

• Table 1 displays the distribution of respondents among
junior high school students across four grade levels.
Grade 7 students had 8 respondents, Grade 8 had 5
respondents, Grade 9 had 16 respondents, and Grade 10
had 5 respondents, resulting in a 100% total population.
