Exodus 8-10

Exodus 8
The Fourth Plague: Thick swarms of flies
25
Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in
the land.”
26
And Moses said, “It is not right to do so, for we would be sacrificing the
abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God. If we sacrifice the
abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, then will they not stone us?
27
We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the LORD our
God as He will command us.”
28
So Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to the LORD your God
in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. Intercede for me.”
James 4:4
You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world
is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the
world makes himself an enemy of God.

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal
of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God,
what is good and acceptable and perfect.
1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the
world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—
the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is
not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away
along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

1 John 3:13
Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you.
Exodus 10
The Eighth Plague: Locusts

So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them,
“Go, serve the LORD your God. Who are the ones that are going?”

And Moses said, “We will go with our young and our old; with our sons and
our daughters, with our flocks and our herds we will go, for we must hold a
feast to the LORD.”
10
Then he said to them, “The LORD had better be with you when I let you and
your little ones go! Beware, for evil is ahead of you.  11 Not so! Go now, you who
are men, and serve the LORD, for that is what you desired.” And they were
driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
The Ninth Plague: Darkness
24
Then Pharaoh called to Moses and said, “Go, serve the LORD; only let
your flocks and your herds be kept back. Let your little ones also go
with you.”
25
But Moses said, “You must also give us sacrifices and burnt offerings,
that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
26
Our livestock also shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind. For
we must take some of them to serve the LORD our God, and even we
do not know with what we must serve the LORD until we arrive there.”
Exodus 8
The Third Plague: Lice
18
Now the magicians so worked with their enchantments to bring forth
lice, but they could not. So there were lice on man and beast.
19
Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.”
John 8

This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which
to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground
with His finger, as though He did not hear.

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to
them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her
first.”

And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground
Exodus 31
18
And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai,
He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written
with the finger of God.

Romans 3
19
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are
under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may
become guilty before God.
