who I admire greatly and see as being worthy of more respect than I think he often is given. • He was a very abstract theorist, but I think that was due more to his attempt at grasping the very core of our being than anything else. Conscious and the Persona • Conscious: The Persona is the piece of ourselves we present to others and is most concerned with the present much like how the Conscious is laser focused on our present being at any time. The Consciousness primary function is to focus on individual pieces of our lives and minds on a one-by-one basis. • Due to our society and its forces, especially in Western Culture, this means that our conscious usually spends a lot of its time thinking about our persona and therefore how we present ourselves. • Thus, we come to a full circle and see how the Persona and Conscious are linked. Personal Unconscious and the Shadow • Personal Unconscious: Since the Personal Unconsciousness is all of the different parts of the mind that are not being thought about presently, that we don’t want to think about, as well as ideas that we haven’t thought about for a long time, it makes good sense to set the Shadow in this group. • What with the Shadow being all of our repressed emotions, desires, and intentions, I would like to use our little demon friend here as an example of the Shadow. Collective Unconscious and Anima/Animus • Collective Unconscious: The Unfinished Minis will be a good example of the collective unconscious because they are very basic and uncolored. • The Collective Unconscious is also a good example of how as psycho-theory gets closer and closer to the bottom or “heart” of consciousness, the less is understood and because of how little many of us really search those depths its not crazy to see why. • To not understand oneself is to not understand humanity. To not understand humanity means a grave failure for us indeed.
