Electrical Plan - Clarence Hernandez
Electrical Plan - Clarence Hernandez
PLAN
Electrical plan is “a preplan of
electrical design on a paper
before the physical installation of
electrical appliances and
machines in real time”.
In general, to install the electrical
appliances and machines for any
home or industry, initially a plan
is made by an Engineer. The plan
is often termed as electrical plan.
This electrical plan consists of several
standard symbols of electrical appliances
and machines and their interconnection.
Standard electrical symbols and their
interconnection convey the information
of original equipment.
For example, a small industry needs lighting system,
cooling systems, protection equipment, transformers,
specific electrical machines, and cooking equipment.
To install all this equipment the engineer will analyze
the rating and number of equipment in such a way
that this equipment will drive the system properly.
Then, take the measurement of the building and the
machine sizes. Next, the engineer will make a design
in paper.
Finally, all the electrical equipment is installed
properly by verifying the preplanned design of
electrical plan. The electrical plan plays a vital role
in the installation of electrical systems in real time.
The electrical plan should obey the rules and
instructions framed by National Electrical
Manufacturer Association (NEMA), Electrical
Apparatus and Service Association (EASA), and
America national standard institute (ANSI).
Currently, all electrical plans are usually
prepared with software tools such as Computer
Aided Design (CAD) and some other digital
approaches. The digital electrical design is
more convenient to understand, design, and
modify the electrical plan than conventional
design.
