What is Not the purpose of PSSG PSSG
• Not to Replaced the current supervision
you are received in your Centre.
• Not a platform to address your grievances
BUT you can share your challenges and
dilemmas (without names). The group can
provide support and explore ways to work
around the challenges
• No one has formal authority over the other
group members, and hence no attempt to
monitor, evaluate, direct or assume clinical
responsibility for the other group members.

PSSG – It’s • It is a group about you and for you.
• It’s about your professional self as a supervisor
About you • PSSG is intended to provide informal, reciprocal,
uncompetitive platform for group members’ clinical and
professional concerns
• Conceptually, this group is closest to peer consultation,
combined with support in emotional, informational, and
practical help, plus professional development.
• Deliberately unstructured, whereas in supervision the
supervisor is the clear leader, by virtue of greater
experience, expertise and through formal authorization.
TREY 6
research
PSSG – It’s • Members need to be free to speak about their practice
About you without restraint or concern for consequences.
• Confidentiality to be maintained and to keep whatever
that are shared within the group. NO ‘POST MORTEMS‘
PLEASE
• Session ends with a final review in order to increase the
group's effectiveness and ensure that members leave
‘intact’ and safe.

Reflection
needs
Reflecting on your own practice,
compared to a benchmark of good
practice, often reveals new perspectives
on the challenges inherent in supervision.
Identifying your strengths and weaknesses
enables you to build upon the former and
address the latter with targeted
