(+) A little/ a few is a positive idea:

● They have a little money, so they’re not poor. (= they have some money).

● I’ve got a few friends, so I’m not lonely. (= I’ve got some friends).

(-) Little/ few is a negative idea:

● They have little money, so they’re very poor. (= nearly no money).

● I’ve got few friends, so I’m sad and I’m lonely. (= nearly no friends).
