Orientation Night!

•Thanks for coming to K-2 Night and taking a moment to


explore your child’s education.
•We will begin our presentation promptly at 5:00 p.m.

Policies & Procedures
 School hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
-students are tardy after 8:15 a.m.
 Breakfast is free to everyone and begins at 7:45.m.

 All parents and visitors must sign in at the front office and
receive a pass.
-if you are walking your child to class,
you must stop by the office and pick
up a pass.
Policies & Procedures
 If your child is a car rider, you must go through the car
rider line.
 Early checkout ends at 2:45 p.m. Office staff will not sign
out students after this time.
 For your child's safety, parents will not be permitted in
the building during dismissal from 2:45-3:30.
 Parents visiting must park in a parking lot. No cars are
allowed in the bus line.
Policies & Procedures
 If you need to change your child's transportation for
the day, you have two options:

-You may send a written note to your child's teacher the


day of the change. Teachers cannot accept texts, phone calls
or emails for transportation changes.

OR

-You may email the office @ smithfr@richmond.k12.ga.us


BEFORE 12:00 p.m. to make a transportation change.
Celebrations

Classroom Parties:
The county allows 2 parties a year in the
classroom.

*Christmas
*End of the Year

Birthday Parties:
No birthday parties in the classrooms.

The students may celebrate their birthdays by sharing cupcakes at


lunch time with their classmates.
Field Trips

• Field Trips are governed by the academic


curriculum. The experience should bring new
knowledge to the student’s world.
• All students must return permission slips to attend.

• Parents are welcome to attend. We ask that you attend


the volunteer class to assist us on the trips.
• No siblings are allowed on field trips.
School Supplies

Thank you for sending in school supplies!


Accidents can occur… please send an
extra set of clothing in a bag labeled
with your child’s name.
Have your child practice…

• Tying their shoe laces


• Zipping and buttoning their jackets
• Opening juice boxes and food bags
• Writing their name
