 Located in the Midwest region of the United States, the State of
Illinois is the fourth most populous in the country. It borders
Wisconsin to the north, Indiana to the east, Kentucky to the south,
and Iowa and Missouri to the west.Illinois was founded on December 3,
1818,whose founder's name is Marquette.
 Joliet nicknamed the region Illinois, in reference to the Illiniwek
confederation, with which Marquette and Joliet established friendly
relations. That same year, Marquette founded a Catholic mission in the
region. In 1699, other French missionaries founded a commercial
establishment, and a village in 1703.
CURIOSITY ABOUT ILLINOIS
 Illinois is the sixth most inhabited state in the country, with 12,812,508
inhabitants. Its capital is Springfield.
 Illinois was the first state to abolish slavery by ratifying the Thirteenth
Amendment. The favorite dance in Illinois is the Square Dancing. The largest
library in the world is the Chicago Public Library. It has over 2 million books!

 Let's start with the capital of Illinois. Abraham Lincoln City, whose real name is Springfield.

 Springfield is the capital of the US state of Illinois and the seat of Sangamon County. It was
founded on April 10, 1821 and incorporated on April 2, 1832 as a village, and later as a city in
1840. It is known as the "Home of President Abraham Lincoln".
 Present-day Springfield was settled by European Americans in the late 1810s, around the time
Illinois became a state. The most famous historic resident was Abraham Lincoln, who lived in
Springfield from 1837 until 1861, when he went to the White House as President of the United
States. Major tourist attractions include several sites connected to Lincoln, including the
Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library, the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, the
Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices State Historic Site, and the Lincoln Tomb at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

 Springfield sits in a valley and plain near the Sangamon River. Lake Springfield, a large man-made
lake owned by City Water, Light & Power Company (CWLP), supplies the city with recreation and
drinking water. The climate is quite typical for mid-latitude locations, with four distinct
seasons, including hot summers and cold winters. Spring and summer weather is like most midwestern
cities; heavy thunderstorms may occur. Tornadoes hit the Springfield area in 1957 and 2006.
 The city has a mayor–council form of government and governs the Capital Township. The government of the state
of Illinois is based in Springfield. State government institutions include the Illinois General Assembly, the Illinois
Supreme Court and the Office of the Governor of Illinois. There are three public and three private high schools in
Springfield. Public schools in Springfield are operated by District No. 186. Springfield's economy is dominated by
government jobs, plus the related lobbyists and firms that deal with the state and county governments and justice
system, and health care and medicine.

CHICAGO
The city of Chicago is the city with the most inhabitants in the state of Illinois,
with about 12 million inhabitants, thus occupying 65% of the population in the state
of Illinois.
 Chicago is one of the largest industrial and financial centers in the world, being
the second largest manufacturing center in the country after Los Angeles - and also
the second largest financial center in the United States, after New York.
 What stands out in Chicago is the Willis tower, which was once considered the
tallest building in the world with its 520 meters high.
 We can't forget about the famous basketball team, Chicago Bulss, which was like
Pele's saints in the 90s, with stars Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant,
John Paxson and Bill Cartwright.
 There are several other tourist attractions in Chicago, such as the Chicago Public
Library, among others, but if you mention them all, it will become a lecture instead
of a seminar (if it is not already one)

Discovering this effervescent foodie culture is easier than you might think. Just
follow Chef Kevin Hickey, owner of The Duck Inn and a Chicagoan acquired from his
hometown. Naturally, the deep dish pizza is a spectacle, but Chef Hickey ennobles
the Chicago hot dog by preparing it with tomato slices, condiments, onions,
mustard, pickles, pickled peppers and celery salt, on bread. with poppy seed,
without ketchup, making it Chicago's most popular delicacy. In the summer, he
recommends a visit to one of the country's great attractions, the Green City
Market at the southern end of Lincoln Park. Visitors to the market will delight
in organic organic produce, fresh delicacies and gourmet dishes.

 For other culinary delights, take Chef Hickey's advice and venture into the
neighborhoods. In Pilsen, Latin flavors dominate the scene, from Colombian
delights at Efebina’s Café with its cornbread to authentic tacos at Taqueria
Los Comales. In Chinatown Square, try dim sum at Cai or eat succulent bowls of
noodles at Strings Ramen. Restaurants specializing in other locations and
animals specializing in animals for local animals and especially animals for

 In Springfield, incredible as it may seem, there is a tourist spot that does not
involve Abraham Lincoln, this spot is Route 66, known worldwide with an incredible
3,940 km in length.
