About Songs
Songs are highly expressive.
Some convey love and emotions ; some tell a memorable and
moving story; some embody one’s dreams and ideals.
 Songs are abundant in themes and expressions which will
echo in the learner’s heart.
SOSIAL FUNCTION OF SONGS
• To entertain the listeners.
• To teach moral value through the lyrics of the songs.
• To express personal feeling and cultural values.
GENERAL STRUCTURE OF SONGS
• Intro
The introduction establishes melodic, harmonic, and/or rhythmic related to the main body
of song.

· Verse,
It is the section of the song structure that tells the story. 

·  Refrain,  
A refrain is any line that repeats in the song lyric, 

· Chorus,  chorus is the most repeated section, so it’s the easiest remembered.  

·  Bridge,  It can suddenly change tempo, or volume, or instrumentation.   

·  Coda,  This is the end of the songs  


From the song, we can learn:
• Meanings of words.
We can find some words that we don’t understand by looking up a dictionary.

• Same rhymes.

• Synonyms and Antonyms


Find the synonyms or the similar meanings and Antonyms to help us enrich our vocabulary.

• The feeling of the singer


If we read the complete lyrics, we will see the singer’s feeling.

• The reader feelings


After you read and hear the song you can summarize what do you feel based on the witer
feeling.
