RULES
OF PATINTERO
PRESENTED BY:
CLAIRE D. OSORIO
NICA J. MAÑEBOG
Patintero Rules
1. The game starts with the 2 teams doing either rock-paper-scissors or
by a coin toss. Whichever team wins is the first passers.

2. The passers position themselves at the starting point.

This point is just behind the first crosswise line of the
rectangle. While the guards stand on the lines. A guard
or two is assigned on each of the crosswise lines.
3. Guards are allowed move along their respective lines, except for the
team leader. The team leader positions himself or herself on the first
line. He or she moves both along the crosswise and lengthwise lines.

4. Guards are not allowed to step into the squares.

5. The guards tag the passers that come within their
reach, including those running past them. But they must
do it only when their feet are on the lines. Tagging a
passer when none or only one foot is on the line is not
valid.
6.The guards prevent any passer from crossing the lines.

7. Passers need to cross all the lines as quickly as

possible. No passer must stay inside the square for
more than 3 minutes (or depending on a set time the
teams agreed).

8. Once a passer successfully crosses all the lines

and returns to the base without being tagged, his or
her team earns points.
9. If a passer is tagged, he or she is “eliminated” and stays back behind
the starting point. The eliminated player either waits for his or her next
turn to pass or waits until all members of the passers’ team are
eliminated.

10. Once all the passers are “eliminated”,

their team becomes the Guards. And the
game continues with the two teams
exchanging roles
