PRESENT PERFECT TENSE

IN ACTIVE AND PASSIVE

PRESENT PERFECT
 The present perfect tense is an English verb tense used for past actions that are related to or
continue into the present.

There are three forms: Affirmative, Negative &Interrogative.

 Example

 He has started running.


 She has taken coffee.
 He has gone to the library.
 We have shopped in this market.
PRESENT PERFECT STRUCTURE
Affirmative: Subject + have/has + past participle + object
Example: I have eaten the rice .

Negative: Subject + have/has + not + past participle + object


Example: I have not eaten the rice.

Interrogative: have + subject + past participle + object + ?


Example: Have I eaten the rice?
PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
• Active: Subject – has/have + third form of the verb
Passive: Object – has been + third form of the verb

EXAMPLE:
Active: Girl has clicked Selfie.
• Passive: Selfie has been clicked by girl.

Active: I have finished the drawing.


Passive: The drawing has been finished by me.
QUESTIONS
Q1) Is the sentence active/passive?

A) He has been playing baseball.

ANS: passive

B) The worker has helped a lot of people.

ANS: active

C) Nobody has done this before.

ANS: active
QUESTION
Q1) Change into negative and interrogative.

A) I have gone to swimming.


ANS: I have not gone to swimming.
ANS: Have I gone to swimming?

B) He has tried the dish.


ANS: He has not tried the dish.
ANS: Has he tried the dish.

C) He has finished his exam.


ANS: He has not finished his exam.
ANS: Has he finished his exam.
