PURPOSE OF BILDING
BYELAWS
 Provide suitable areas for selected activiteds
 Avoid problems resulting from traffic
 Provide play grounds gardens places of recreations
 Assure satisfactory services
 Develop town in systematic manner
 Provide safety against diseases
 Control hpaphazzard development
BYELAWS
 Taking into consideration the local situations and the
actual requirements of local people the local authority
prepares certain rules for the building and for the
development for town these rules are submitted to the
government for approval the rules proposed by the
local authority become bye laws after the approval of
the government the rules must be specific clear and
the language of rules should be grammatically correct
terms used should be defined clearly so that there
must be one and only one meaning of the term.

 AREAS:-BUILT UP AREA-areas of all floors above or below the ground
level of the building like bellow
 Base ment
 Building structure
 Out house
 Garage
 Servents room
 Water purification plant
 Duct for humidity
 Chimney for smoke
 Swimming pool

permitted ti increase F.S.I up to 1.25 on payment of
additional fees in town planning scheme areas of
some cities.
 Basement:-Lower storey of a building aveng
minimum half the clear floor height of the
basement or cellar below average ground level
Type of building
 Apartment :-Building with more than one storey and
combined construction prepared for three or more families
with separate kitchen bath and w.c for each family
 Chawl:-building prepared for rental purpose Each tenet will
have two rooms in his possession bath rooms and w.c.s are
combined
 Educational building:-building exclusively used for a
school or college recognised by the proper board or
university library or research institutors can be considered
as educational building quarters for essential staff can be
included in the premises
