Why do children need
Psychosocial Support?
Psychosocial Support aims to:
1.Strengthen the inner
resources of the children
◦ Distress and Trauma: many children who have
faced tough situations experience a lot of distress
and trauma. This can leave them feeling really
upset and overwhelmed.
◦ Psychosocial Support helps them deal with these
difficult feelings and find ways to cope with them.
Emotional and Mental Development:

◦just like how we learn math and science in

school, children also need to develop their
emotional and mental skills.
◦Psychosocial support helps children develop
these skills so they can grow and learn in a
healthy way.
3.Resilience and Coping
Build resilience of children and enhance their coping capacities

Life can be tough sometimes, and children

will face challenges as they grow up.

Psychosocial support helps children build

resilience, which means being able to bounce
back from difficult situations. It teaches them
how to cope with problems and find
solutions.
Support Systems:
build up the capacity of support systems for children

◦Children need a network of caring people

around them who can provide support.
◦Psychosocial support helps build up these
support systems, like having friends,
family, or even teachers who can listen,
understand, and help children when
they're going through tough times.
Preparing for the Future:
prepare children for the challenges and problems that they may encounter in their lives
We can't predict what challenges children will face in the future, but we can help them prepare

◦Psychosocial support gives children the

tools they need to face problems and
overcome them. It helps them become
strong and well-balanced individuals who
can handle whatever life throws at them.
◦ psychosocial support is essential for children. It helps them grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. It's just as important as providing
them with food and clothes. By giving children this kind of support, we empower them to face life's challenges and live happy and
fulfilling lives.
