Classroom profile : 40 students; 20 girls and 20 boys. Mixed ability class

Aims : to provide the students the opportunity to use adjectives


that describe physical traits and qualities of a person's
personality in a simple sentence so that this knowledge
can be used in their real life communication.

Materials and aids : Picture cards, word cards, task sheets 2


Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this lesson, students will be able to


● Identify the adjectives that can be used to describe a person’s appearance and
the personality.
● Construct simple sentences using the adjectives to describe a person.
● Listen and find specific information from a text.
● Transfers the given information to other forms.
● Present their own description about a person.
● Perform the learned language knowledge in their real life communication.
● Develop the ability to listen and understand.

• Brainstorm the students’ knowledge by

• Teacher divides the class into 5 groups .


• Teacher divides the board into 5 sections and name them as group A, B, C etc
• Teacher reads a description of a monster sentence by sentence

• Teacher invites one student from each group to the board and draw the
appearance described in each sentence. Likewise every student in each group
gets the opportunity.

• First time students have only to listen to the text well.


• Second time they can start answering the questions given in the task sheet
while listening.
• Third time students can re-check their answers or answer the questions they
couldn’t answer before. (fill the gaps they made)
