The function of front office sections are explained under the following headings:

LOBBY
• Lobby is an area located inside the entrance of a hotel
building with sitting arrangements.
• Lobby is also known as “foyer”.
• Lobby offers uniform services such as bell
attendant,hall porter and concierge

UNIFORM SERVICE AND BELL
DESK
Uniform Service is a unit of front office department located within the lobby
area which provides most personalized guest service.
The function of Uniform and bell desk service are as follows:
1. To receive and welcome guest and escort them to reception.
2. To secure and carry luggage and baggage of guest.
3. To handle valet parking service for guest vehicles.
RESERVATION
Reservation is the primary section and regarded as the hub of the front office department in
the hotel.
The main function of this section are as follows:
1. Handle all the reservation request politely and without delay.
2. Process and confirm reservation request.
3. Forecast future room reservation status/
REGISTRATION/
RECEPTION
Registration is responsible for the warm reception of the guest and assigning room after
completing the registration formalities.
The function of the section are as follows:
1. Warmly receive all the arriving guest with politeness.
2. Complete registration formalities and perform guest checking.
3. Perform pre-registration formalities for groups,VIPs and CIPs.
INFORMATION
1. Handle and control room keys and issue arrival and departure errand card.
3. Handle and record guest mails and messsages through the channel of bell desk.
