Getting Education Abroad: Barriers
and Opportunities
In order to get into training, you must first of all love military
affairs and study well, because all grades are monitored from the
first to the third year of study at the Academy, where you receive a
military education.
Firstly, they pass exams in physical training, mathematics, etc.
That is, they undergo a kind of selection among other candidates
for a trip to a foreign military academy.
The second stage is to pass the English language test, where it is
necessary to get at least 5.5 points.
Then — another test, but already British.
After three weeks, documents are submitted and representatives
are invited to an interview at the British Embassy
The academy has three courses :

The course is complete, it lasts

44 weeks, for regular service

A short introductory course designed for Army

Reserve officers as well as professionally
qualified regular and reserve officers (eg doctors,
dentists, nurses, lawyers, pharmacists,
veterinarians and chaplains), it lasts eight weeks.

the Late Entry Officer Course

(LEOC) for soldiers who want to
become officers
The regular course is divided into three semesters, each
lasting 14 weeks:

 «Junior Course»
provide an initial base of knowledge that allows you to
survive in extreme and combat conditions, learn to serve
yourself, provide for your needs, orient yourself to the local
area

«Intermediate Course»
already more attention is paid to the work in the unit,
especially the platoon. They teach how to maneuver.

«Senior Course»
involves the study of more weighty and more complex material,
for example, the tactics of an infantry platoon in an urban area. At
the same time, the instructors always take into account the combat
experience gained by the British in Iraq and Afghanistan. All
training takes place according to NATO standards.
Emphasis in training is placed
not only on the acquisition of
special military skills, but also
on the development of
leadership qualities. Future
officers are taught to
command, lead people into
battle and show them a
personal example of internal
motivation.

according to the representation of the countries whose citizens are studying at the
academy in this period of time. For example, the national anthem of Great Britain is
played on Monday, Germany's on Tuesday, and Ukraine's on Wednesday. Cadets must
know the words by heart.

At the sergeant's command, everyone drinks water from their flasks in unison. The
sergeant must make sure that the cadets maintain the necessary level of fluids in the
body. After morning exercise and cleaning of the premises, breakfast takes place.
