Let’s study first the rules

Rules number 1: we use ( a ) before words beginning


with a consonant ( examples: book, car, dog, bag, cat,
man, etc.)

Rules number 2: we use ( an ) before words


beginning with a vowel (examples: apple,
avocado, oven, etc.)
Consonant and vowel sounds:

C, b, d, g, f, k, l, n, m, p, q, r, s, t, w

We use A before nouns

For example:
A pen , A clock , A toy .
