Truth Opinion
Indicators of Truth
● A fact is a statement that can be proven true.
● Statements that can be verified.
● They can be proven true or false
● Statements of fact are objective they contain
information but do not tell what the writer thinks
or believes about the topic.
● A fact generally refers to something that is true
and can be verified as such.
● Facts speak for their own truth.
Indicators of Opinion
● An opinion expresses someone’s belief,
feeling, view, idea, or judgment about
something or someone
● Statements that express a writer’s feelings,
attitudes, or beliefs.
Indicators of Opinion
● They are neither true nor false
● They are one person’s view about a topic
or issue
Indicators of Opinion
● An opinion refers to a personal belief. It
relates to how someone feels about
something. Others may agree or disagree
with an opinion, but they cannot prove or
disprove it. This is what defines it as
opinion.
● Opinion may use descriptive language to
appeal to your emotions and sway your
thinking.

Global Warming is a term almost everyone is familiar with. But its meaning
is still not clear to most of us. So, Global warming refers to the gradual rise
in the overall temperature of the atmosphere of the Earth. There are various
activities taking place which have been increasing the temperature
gradually. Global warming is melting our ice glaciers rapidly. This is
extremely harmful to the earth as well as humans. It is quite challenging to
control global warming; however, it is not unmanageable. The first step in
solving any problem is identifying the cause of the problem. Therefore, we
need to first understand the causes of global warming that will help us
