(Laffan, 2020).
Social Media also plays a huge role in the spread of K-pop or Korean culture. Over the years, these K-
pop bands have captivated audiences and developed massive fan bases with inspiring and uplifting
Some of the kpop bands BTS, Blackpink, Twice and, SEVENTEEN work tirelessly and go through
extensive vocal, media, and choreography training before they hit the stage for the first time, in
groups ranging from four artists to 21.One of the reasons why K-pop is adored by many is because of
K-pop artists or commonly called "idols". The popularity of K-pop has a significant impact on a
variety of things, including fashion, music genres and styles, and most and sometimes setting
standards to their partner. Many fans love their idols to the point they become sasaeng — obsessed

partner who resembles their idols. Many fans also try to use social media and dating apps to not just
connect with their idols but to talk to Korean men as well (Kamdar, 2021). This research aims to

students look for in a significant other and how it influences dating. The delimitation is
that not all Grade 12 students are impacted by this or are really big fans of it, which can
lead to a lot of loopholes in our study that might not be covered; however, the goal of the
study is simply to demonstrate how kpop bands has influenced standards for finding a
significant other for huge fans. We are unable to list everything that they added to their
list of requirements for a partner because they tend to change frequently.
