Hypertensive Disorder Of Pregnancy
Hypertensive disease of pregnancy is a group of high blood
pressure disorders that include preeclampsia, preeclampsia
superimposed on chronic hypertension, gestational hyperten-
sion, and chronic hypertension.
Condition Parameter

Hypertension SBP ≥ 140 mmHg and/or DBP ≥ 90 mmHg

Severe hypertension SBP ≥ 160 mmHg and/or DBP ≥ 110 mmHg


Hypertension after 20 weeks LMP with or without proteinuria on
dipstick urinalysis and One or more signs of end-organ damage:
• severe headache, tinnitus
Pre-eclampsia • visual disturbances
• epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting
• oliguria (urine output < 400 ml/day or < 30 ml/hour)
• thrombocytopenia (platelet count < 100 000/mm³)
• renal impairment (serum creatinine level > 1.1 mg/dl)

Gestational Diabetes Mellitus is defined as Carbohydrate in-
tolerance resulting in hyperglycemia of variable severity with
first onset during pregnancy.

Association (BADAS) Fasting plasma glucose ≥ 5.1 mmol/l
(75 g OGTT) 1 hour plasma glucose ≥ 10.0 mmol/l
2 hour plasma glucose ≥ 8.5 mmol/l
American Diabetic At least two values meeting the thresholds:
Association (ADA) Fasting plasma glucose ≥ 5.11 mmol/l
(75 g OGTT) 1 hour plasma glucose ≥ 10.5 mmol/l
2 hour plasma glucose ≥ 8.0 mmol/l
