GOAL:
•TO GUIDE DEPED AND OTHER
STAKEHOLDERS ON THE DUTY
TO RESPECT, PROTECT, FULFILL,
AND PROMOTE ALL CHILDREN’S
RIGHTS TO AND IN EDUCATION
THE RIGHTS TO EDUCATION INCLUDES:

•THERIGHT OF THE CHILD TO ACCESS

•THE RIGHT TO QUALITY EDUCATION
THE RIGHTS IN EDUCATION INCLUDES:
•THE RIGHT TO LIFE, SURVIVAL AND DEVELOPMENT
•THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS THEIR VIEWS FREELY IN ALL
MATTERS AFFECTING THE CHILD, AND FOR THOSE VIEWS
TO BE GIVEN DUE WEIGHT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
AGE AND MATURITY OF THE CHILD
THE RIGHTS IN EDUCATION INCLUDES:
•THE RIGHT TO BE HEARD IN ANY JUDICIAL OR ADMINISTRATIVE
PROCEEDINGS AFFECTING THE CHILD, EITHER DIRECTLY, OR
THROUGH A REPRESENTATIVE OR AN APPROPRIATE BODY, IN A
MANNER CONSISTENT WITH THE PROCEDURAL RULES OF NATIONAL
LAW
•THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
•THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF THOUGHT, CONSCIENCE AND RELIGION
THE RIGHTS IN EDUCATION INCLUDES:
•THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION AND TO FREEDOM OF
PEACEFUL ASSEMBLY
•THE RIGHT TO PRIVACY
•THE RIGHT TO ACCESS TO INFORMATION FROM A DIVERSITY OF
NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SOURCES
•THE RIGHT TO PROTECTION

THE CENTER OF PHILIPPINE

UNIT (SGOD) AND THE CHILD RIGHTS IN
EDUCATION DESK IN DEPED (LEGAL)
•CHILD PROTECTION UNIT (CPU) –
STRENGTHEN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF DEPED
CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
•CHILDRIGHTS IN EDUCATION DESK (CREDE)-
HELP ENSURE THAT THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD
IN BASIC EDUCATION ARE RESPECTED,
PROTECTED, PROMOTED, AND FULFILLED IN,
AND BY, THE DEPARTMENT
REVIEW CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
SCHOOL HEADS SHALL:
• ENSURE THE INSTITUTION
OF EFFECTIVE CHILD PROTECTION
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, AND MONITOR COMPLIANCE
THEREOF;
• ENSURE THAT THE SCHOOL ADOPTS A CHILD PROTECTION
POLICY;
• ENSURE THAT ALL PUPILS, STUDENTS OR LEARNERS, SCHOOL
PERSONNEL, PARENTS, GUARDIANS OR CUSTODIANS, AND
VISITORS ARE AWARE OF THE CHILD PROTECTION POLICY;

•ORGANIZE AND CONVENE THE CHILD
PROTECTION COMMITTEE
•CONDUCT CAPACITY BUILDING ACTIVITIES FOR
THE MEMBERS OF THE CHILD PROTECTION
COMMITTEE AND GUIDANCE ADVOCATES
•CONDUCT DISCIPLINARY PROCEEDINGS IN
CASES OF OFFENSES COMMITTED BY PUPILS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF SCHOOL


•ENSURE THAT THE PARTICIPATORY AND OTHER
RIGHTS OF CHILDREN ARE RESPECTED AND
UPHELD IN ALL MATTERS AND PROCEDURES
AFFECTING THEIR WELFARE;
•MAINTAINA RECORD OF ALL PROCEEDINGS
RELATED TO BULLYING OR PEER ABUSE AND
SUBMIT AFTER EACH S.Y. TO THE DIVISION
OFFICE
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF SCHOOL
•CONDUCT THE APPROPRIATE TRAINING AND
CAPABILITY BUILDING ACTIVITIES ON CHILD
PROTECTION;
•ENSURE ALL INCIDENTS OF ABUSE, VIOLENCE,
EXPLOITATION, DISCRIMINATION, BULLYING
AND OTHER SIMILAR ACTS ARE ADDRESSED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
DEPED ORDER

3 DIMENSIONS OF RBE-DEPED
•ENSURE THAT ALL CHILDREN
EFFECTIVELY LEARN CHILD RIGHTS , RBE-
DEPED AND THIS DEPED ORDER.
•ENSURE THAT ALL SCHOOL PERSONNEL
ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND SKILLED IN
CHILD RIGHTS, RBE-DEPED AND THIS
DEPED ORDER.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF SCHOOLS (RBE-DEPED)
• CONDUCT, ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT IEC AND ADVOCACY
CAMPAIGNS, CAPACITY-BUILDINGS AND PARTNERSHIP BUILDING
ACTIVITIES ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RBE-DEPED AND THIS
DEPED ORDER
• DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT CO-CURRICULAR AND EXTRA-
CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN, AND APPROPRIATE
ACTIVITIES FOR SCHOOL PERSONNEL, PARENTS AND GUARDIANS,
AND OTHER EDUCATION STAKEHOLDERS TOWARDS GREATER
UNDERSTANDING, APPRECIATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF RBE-
DEPED AND CHILD RIGHTS, ESPECIALLY THE RIGHTS TO AND IN
EDUCATION

RESPONSIBILITIES OF SCHOOL
• FOSTER A RIGHTS-UPHOLDING LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
(RULE), AND CULTURE IN THE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY
LEARNING CENTERS THROUGH ANY AND ALL APPROPRIATE
MEANS ACCESSIBLE AND AVAILABLE TO THE SCHOOLS AND
COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS
• REPORTTO THE SDO-CREDE ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF
RBE-DEPED AND THIS DEPED ORDER; AND
• PERFORM ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS NECESSARY OR
APPROPRIATE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RBE-DEPED AND
THIS DEPED ORDER
