AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY
FOUR-WHEEL TRACTORS – SPECIFICATIONS
4 WHEEL DRIVE
 A self-propelled vehicle designed
to carry, pull or propel
agricultural machines and
implements.
 Make your land preparation
operations faster and easier.
 Flexible in both dry and wet soil
conditions, and has better
traction.
 Multi-purpose farm machinery
recommended for large-scale
farm operations.
PARTS AND COMPONENTS
AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY
HAND TRACTORS – SPECIFICATIONS
A self-propelled machine used for
plowing, harrowing, and leveling of field.

Designed to pull and propel trailed or

mounted agricultural machinery and
implements.

Compared to animals/human, it is more

efficient and can perform better.

Suitable in both wet and dry soil

condition.

Multi-purpose farm machinery can be

used especially for transport and hauling
of farm inputs

IMPLEMENTS
DISC PLOW

 Implement with individually

mounted concave disc blades
which cut, partially or
completely invert soil slices to
bury surface material, and
pulverize the soil.
 Usually consist of a gang of
many disks mounted on one
axle
 Set to throw the soil entirely to
the right or left.
 Disk tillers, also called harrow
plows or one-way disk plows
DISC HARROW

 Implement used to pulverize the

soil to attain a better soil tilth
for the seed germination and
growth.
 Consist of concave cutting
blades (disks), mounted on a
common shaft, that form a gang
 Used to prepare the soil
for planting or sowing by
breaking up the clods and
surface crusts
 Improves soil granulation
by destroying the weeds
MOLDBOARD PLOW

 Sliding implement that cuts, lifts, inverts

and throws to one side a layer of soil
(furrow slice) to bury surface materials
 Secondary tillage operations, such as
disking or field cultivation
 Allow for uniform incorporation of
fertilizers and pesticides and smoothing
of the soil surface
 Provide soil pulverization and nearly
complete burial of weed seeds and
residue
 Speeds up warming and drying of these
soils, thus avoiding spring delays
FURROWER

 Tillage implement resembling a

double moldboard, one left wing and
one right wing
 Suitable for furrowing or ridging
operations in dry farming areas
 Has strong adaptability and is very
suitable for terraces and small plots of
land
 Plough legs can be adjusted to meet
the requirements of various furrows,
and only one or two ploughs can be
use
FIELD CULTIVATOR

 Implement for seedbed

preparation, weed eradication,
or fallow cultivation subsequent
to some form of primary tillage,
equipped with spring steel
shanks
  to prepare the soil for planting
by digging deep into the soil to
turn up and mix the topsoil
 Eliminates weeds, clearing the
soil to reduce competition for
air, water, sunlight, and
nutrients
SPIKE-TOOTH HARROW

 Secondary tillage implement consisting

of long spikes that break the soil clods
after plowing
 Ideal tool for breaking up crusty soils,
scattering animal droppings, covering
seeds after broadcasting, aerating soil,
maintaining arenas and other light duty
finishing work
 Spike tooth harrow shall be hitched to
a two wheel tractor
 Trailing spike tooth harrow shall be
towed by the tractor to cut through the
soil
SPRING-TOOTH HARROW

 secondary tillage implement

consisting of long and curved teeth
made of spring steel which are
fastened on the transverse toolbars
with the other end pointed to give
good soil penetration
 curved, springy teeth designed for
use in rough, stony ground and
around roots
 used to loosen and level the soil after
plowing and baling
 kill some weeds that may be present,
but it is not very efficient and that is
not one of its primary functions
ROTARY TILLERS

 implement used for broadcast tillage

 used as chemical incorporator and as
row crop cultivator
 also referred to as rotary cultivator.
 consists of power-driven shaft, parallel
or perpendicular to the land surface,
moving transverse to the direction of
travel
 equipped with blades that cut and
pulverize the soil, and incorporate all
materials in the disturbed layer of the
soil
TRAILER ( AGRICULTURAL TYPE)

 Trailer designed to carry load for

agricultural purposes without power of its
own
 Essential part of the transportation
industry, and they are also a major part of
the economy.
 Keep goods and materials moving from
one place to another, and without them, the
economy would suffer.
 Designed to haul heavy loads over long
distances, making them much more
mobile than other types of vehicles.
 Transport large amounts of goods and
materials in a single trip, which makes
them much more efficient and cost-
effective than other types of vehicles
TRACTOR
MOUNTED BOOM
SPRAYERS
ROTARY TILLERS

 used for spraying in vegetable gardens,

flower crops, vineyards and for tall field
crops like sugarcane, maize, cotton,
sorghum, millets etc.
 Utilize PTO power of the tractor to operate
the pump of the sprayer
 arranged in two ways; ground spray boom
and Overhead spray boom
 The sprayer essentially consists of a tank
which is made of fiber glass or plastic,
pump assembly’s suction pipe with
strainer, pressure gauges pressure
regulators, air chamber, delivery pipe, spray
boom fitted with nozzles
 uses high pressure and high discharge
pump as the number of nozzles may be up
to 20 depending upon the crop and make
of the sprayer.
