The news report focuses on the very
recent and important event based on
facts which is presented in a straight
style without opinion. The sports news
article is the same as news report but its
main purpose is to report on games,
sporting topics and other aspects of
sporting events such as who win, who
lost, final score, and what the star player
did.
An opinion article is an essay in a
newspaper which tells what the
writer thinks or believes. This may
not be necessarily true however; the
writer can support the article by
citing what a witness says,
mentioning a source such as
research, or recalling a direct
observation made.
Feature article is usually
combination of more than one
article (sometimes just one long
article) that detailed,
interpretative and many
descriptions of the subject with
accompanying visual elements
such as photo, caricatures and
many more.

publication and their purpose is to inform readers of what is
happening in the world around them. They are found in the
News Section of the newspaper. It tells of a very recent
extraordinary event that is of interest to the public.
An opinion piece is an article, usually published
in a newspaper or magazine, that mainly
reflects the author's opinion about a subject.
A feature article is a piece of non-fiction writing
about news. It is a descriptive narrative article
about something that the author wants to write.
Places, events, lifestyles, individuals are just
some examples of a topic. It is found on the
Lifestyle Page of the newspaper.
An opinion piece is an article, usually published
in a newspaper or magazine, that mainly
reflects the author's opinion about a subject.
A sports article is a form of writing that reports
on matters pertaining to sporting topics and
competitions. It is found in the Sports Page of
the newspapers.

The Lead also has its subparts which is:
 Primary lead or the most important
information of the article. It answers at
least four of the WH- Questions.
 Secondary lead is supporting detail that
supports the primary lead.
 Background details support the
secondary
lead
 Least important information links the
background details. Sometimes it consists a
quote from a person involved s in the news.
 The main functions of the lead, aside
from introducing the news story, are to
tell the story in a capsule form and to
answer right away the questions the
readers would naturally ask.
 Summary lead answers right away all the
five Ws and/or the H.
