following
• Combination containing Pholcodine or Codeine and
their salts as cough sedative
• Combination of Codeine with Paracetamol and/or
Aspirin in ratio not exceeding 1:50
• Combinations containing antispasmodics
• Combination of antipsychotic drugs
(Neuroleptics) with other drugs except with
anticholinergic Trihexyphenidyl
C. Due to irrational combination
• Combination of antispasmodics with vitamin,

BS 2049
1. Codeine based cough syrups other than only Codeine 3mg/5ml
and bottle less than or equal to 50ml
2. Antibacterial combinations other than the following
• Combinations used in TB & Leprosy
• Two penicillins
• Pharmacopoeial
3. Streptomycin in oral dosage form
Combination of Paracetamol or
Aspirin except the following
• P or A + one decongestant
• P or A + one antihistamine
• P or A + one decongestant + one antihistamine
• Pharmacopoeial
1. Meprobamate and its combinations
2. Anti amoebic or antidiarrhoeal except the
following
• Metronidazole or Diloxanide with diloxanide furoate
• Combination of Diphenoxylate 2.5mg with Atropine
0.025mg in tablet dosage form
3. All combinations of antiflatulant except with
antacids and antispasmodics
4. Cyproheptadine with other drugs
5. Vitamin in prophylactic use

• Any combination within vitamin ABCDE
• B plus mineral
• B plus enzyme &/or amino acids
• B plus amino acids
• B plus enzyme plus amino acids
• B plus protein
• Pharmacopoeial
All the added ingredients should be in
therapeutic range. Therapeutic range should
be in 5 or 10 or 15 or 20 or 30ml in case of
liquids and maximum of 3 tablets or capsules
per day.

• Vitamin B1 4.5 to 10mg


• Vitamin B2 5 to 10mg
• Vitamin B6 1.5 to 3mg
• Vitamin B12 5 to 15mcg
• Folic acid 0.5 to 1.5mg
• Niacinamide 45 to 100mg
• Dpanthenol 5 to 50mg
• Vitamin C 75 to 150mg
• Vitamin A 5000 to 10000IU
• Vitamin D 400 to 1000IU
