Purposive Communication
It is a form of communication used to
write, speak, and present to different
audiences for various purposes.
This aims for students to hone their
communication effectively and
efficiently to a variety of audiences
either local or international to deliver the
intended message.

Listening

It is the ability to accurately receive and interpret


messages in the communication process.

Listening is key to all effective communication,


without the ability to listen effectively messages are
easily misunderstood.

Speaking

It is a language skill or a mean of communication in


which people can express his/her idea or information
to others in spoken form.

It is a complex language skill because people need to


find the ideas before speaking, and then arranged in a
good sentences so people may understand what the
speaker says.

Reading

It is a receptive action which is one of the five


basic skills of communicating in a language.

It is reciprocally associated with writing. Writing


and reading are parallel to speaking and listening.

Writing

It refers to the exchange of information, ideas, or


messages through written language in the form of
letters, emails, notes, and more.

Our ability to write has transformed over time.

Viewing

Viewing as a language skill is defined as the


process of understanding visual texts that come in
various formats, such as TV shows, advertisements,
films, videos, and images.

In short, viewing is the act of 'reading' visual cues.

•conversing intelligently on a subject of import
•reporting on group work and/or assignments
•writing and delivering a formal speech
•writing minutes of meetings and similar documents
• preparing a research or technical paper
