FK
OpenStudio® is a cross-platform (Windows, Mac, and
Linux) collection of software tools to support whole
building energy modeling using EnergyPlus and advanced
daylight analysis using Radiance. OpenStudio is an open

Installation Steps
Download and install OpenStudio Application
1.Download the latest release of OpenStudio Application here.
2.Choose the installer that matches your operating system. The OpenStudio Application package contains the following components:
1. OpenStudio Application
2. EnergyPlus
3. Ruby API
4. C# API
5. Command Line Interface
6. Radiance
7. Application Resources
Optional - Download and install SketchUp and the Openstudio SketchUp Plug-in here
There are a few options for generating geometry for the OpenStudio Application, including the built-in FloorspaceJS interface. One option
is to use the OpenStudio Sketchup Plug-in. To use the plug-in:
3.Download and install SketchUp. Presently, the OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-in requires SketchUp 2019 - 2021 Pro (not available for
Linux).
4.Download the OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-in RBZ package here.
5.Follow the Installing extensions manually in SketchUp Preferences to install the Plug-in.
Optional - Setup a Building Component Library (BCL) Account
Building Component Library (BCL) content can now be accessed from within the OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-in and from the standalone
OpenStudio Application without a BCL key.
Optional - Install Parametric Analysis Tool (PAT)
6.Download the latest release of PAT here (not available for Linux).
Installing extensions manually in SketchUp
If you download an extension from the Extension Warehouse via a web browser or from a developer’s website,
your extension is packaged as an .rbz file that you can install manually. Here are the steps you need to follow:
1.In SketchUp, select Extensions > Extension Manager. The Extension Manager window appears.
2.Click the Install Extension button.
3.In the Open dialog box that appears, navigate to the  .rbz file saved to your computer, select the file, and
click OK (Microsoft Windows) or Open (Mac OS X).
4.When SketchUp warns you about installing only extensions from trusted sources, click Yes to proceed and install
your extension. (This assumes you do, in fact, trust the source of your extension.)

Requirements
SketchUp Pro - System Requirements
Like many computer programs, SketchUp requires certain hardware and software specifications in
order to install and run. These are basic requirements, though, so you may want to use our
recommended suggestions to improve performance.
Note: To authorize your SketchUp subscription you must have internet access.
•Windows 11, Windows 10Software
• An internet connection is required to install and authorize SketchUp and to use some
of the features.
• SketchUp Pro requires .NET Framework version 4.5.2. For more information about
the .NET framework, click here.
•Recommended hardware
• 2+ GHz processor
• Discrete Graphics card such as a current generation AMD or NVIDIA.
• 8+ GB RAM
• 2GB of available hard-disk space
• 3D class video card with 1 GB of memory or higher and support for hardware
acceleration. Please ensure that the video card driver supports OpenGL 3.1 or higher
and is up to date.SketchUp's performance relies heavily on the graphics card driver and
its ability to support OpenGL 3.1 or higher. To test your graphics card's compatibility,
please download and run the SketchUp Checkup application.
• 3-button, scroll-wheel mouse.
•Minimum hardware
• 1 GHz processor
• 4GB RAM
• 1GB of free hard-disk space
• 3D class video card with 512 MB of memory or higher and support for hardware
acceleration. Please ensure that the video card driver supports OpenGL 3.1 or higher
and is up to date.
