 What is Traffic Engineering?
 It is a branch of engineering is the branch of civil engineering which
deals with the application of scientific principles, tools, techniques
and findings for safe, rapid, convenient and economic movement of
people and goods.
 The basic objective of traffic engineering is to achieve efficient,
economical and rapid flow of traffic with least number of accidents.
 The term Traffic Management is sometimes used to express means
and methods adopted to utilize the road systems of town to the
maximum extent.
