BACKGROUND OF STUDY
• Health is a public good, and ill-health is a fundamental humanitarian problem with political,
economic and social causes and consequences.
• Good health is not only a social benefit to individuals and societies, but also contributes to
economies because it plays an important role in productivity

Concept of health

• An understanding of health is the basis of all the health care.

• Health is not perceived the same way by all the members of community including various
professional groups (like biomedical scientists, social, health administrators, ecologist) giving
rise to confusion about the concept of health.

• State of absolute physical, mental, and social well-being.


OBJECTIVES
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
• General objective

 To assessment health and health related conditions in New Gabiley MCH .

 To develop health professionals with an attitude to learning that is based on curiosity and
knowledge exploration rather than passive knowledge acquisition.
• Specific objective

 Assessment of general hygiene of community and environmental sanitation.

 Ensure participatory development by involving the community in the problem identification


and solving process

 To determine socio-economic factors.


PROBLEM STATEMENT
• Today most common problems related to health is being non –infection, in record globally non-
communicable diseases—including obesity-related illnesses, hypertension, diabetes, heart
disease, and mental illness—have become the leading cause of death and disability over the
world wide.

• Without access to medicines, Africans are susceptible to the three big killer diseases on the
continent: Malaria, Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. Globally, 50% of children under five who die of
Pneumonia, Diarrhea, Measles, Tuberculosis and Malaria are in Africa, according to the World
Health Organization (WHO).

• In Somaliland Disease surveillance and control, The common causes of morbidity and mortality are:

• 1) Diarrheal diseases, including cholera;

• 2) Tuberculosis;

• 3) Malaria, which affects mainly pregnant women and children under five; and

• 4) Measles.

• Locally in Gabiley, when we did an observation about health and health related condition, we saw
many health problems including poor environmental sanitation and poor socio economic status.
DATA COLLECTION METHODS

• Questionnaire
• Data was collected using a pre-tested, questionnaire composed of data regarding socio-
demographics (residence, family history, family member) and environmental factors
(Household, family history, knowledge about malaria, and personal data).
DATA GATHERING AND ANALYZE
CONCLUSION
• When we make deeply assessment revealed that the health, health related conditionals the result
is:-

• And also the community tells us some there have problem insect special house fly and mosquito
that cause comfortable physical

• Lack of Knowledge and practice among family planning which is major problems to wards
mother and child.

• Poor housing and communicable diseases are also the problems that we saw during observation.
• Lack of Personal Hygiene.
RECOMMENDATION
• Due to the findings of this Study, we made the Following recommendations toThe government, ministry of health
and NGO’s:-

 To Raise the Public Awareness about communicable diseases.

• To educate and give awareness to improve personal hygiene and sanitation.

• To enhance washing water with soap after defecating, after cleaning child’s buttocks.

• To build enough toilets.

• To encourage mother to breast feeding their children.

• To create good opportunity prevention vectors which need eradicate insects.

• Community health Education programs.
