Background
Self-regulation is an integral part
of the individual self that consistently
regulates and manages individual thoughts,
emotions, behavior and environment

Self-regulation in this study


is placed as a moderator variable
that might strengthen or weaken
the relationship between emotional intelligence
and quality of life of students
Emotional Intelligence
. Emotional intelligence is a composite construct,
including different emotional reasoning abilities,
such as the ability to receive,
understand, and regulate emotions that have
a major influence on one's life satisfaction.
Quality of Life
Quality of life is a very important aspect because it covers all areas of life including health,
hope, work, family, environment and other life situations

.
Quality of life is a person's perception
of the conditions of cultural life
and the value system
in which the individual is associated
with goals, expectations and concerns. (WHO)

1. Students who have a high level of emotional intelligence show a better quality of
life
2. Quality of life is a variable that can increase the life satisfaction of each student
3. Individuals who have high emotional intelligence are individuals who have the
ability for themselves, adapt to their environment, manage the pressures and
problems they face and regulate their moods by always assessing their best side.
4. Humans are gregarious and social creatures, so emotional intelligence helps build
closer relationships
5. Emotional intelligence becomes a more important ability in achieving life goals both
personal, academic and professional success
6. The higher the level of emotional intelligence, the higher the quality of life of
students

Non-Sport University Students Participants:

1. Caused by a lack of movement in physical activity, the


higher a person's age, the quality of life will decrease,
because of a declining physical condition.
2. Lack of self-regulation in carrying out movement
activities causes psychosomatic health problems such
as symptoms of panic, anxiety, stress and bad moods
3. The main causes that affect quality of life are
psychological factors or mental-emotional disorders
and risky behaviors such as smoking, lack of physical
activity, drinking alcohol or not eating enough fiber.

1. The higher the physical condition and feel better, the


better the quality of one's life will be
2. the level of emotional intelligence of sports students is
not at the ideal level (= very good) so that it does not
produce a significant effect on the quality of life of
sports students
3. low emotional intelligence but active movement or
physical activity will be able to improve the quality of
life, because it has a better physical health condition.
4. Conversely, low emotional intelligence plus not actively
doing physical activity, it will not be able to improve the
quality of life.

Conclusion

1. The quality of student life is directly affected by the level of emotional intelligence for all
student participants.
2. The quality of life of non-sport university student participants and sport university student
participants is not directly influenced by emotional intelligence. Self-regulation does not
moderate the effect of emotional intelligence on quality of life.
3. After elaborating with The moderating role of self regulation, it turns out that self regulation
does not moderate the effect of emotional intelligence on quality of life, both in general and
in the category of non-sport university student participant and sport university student
participant.
