 Gold is primarily found as the pure, native
metal.
 Sylvanite and calaverite are gold-bearing
minerals.
 It is mined in South Africa, the USA (Nevada,
Alaska), Russia, Australia and Canada.
Where is gold made from?
 Gold minerals form in hot rocks in and around
volcanoes.
 Low sulfur, gold-bearing hydrothermal fluids
form when hot rocks heat ground water.
