About Online

Submission
Every toy is required to fill this template for submission (different templates for Junior
WhizKid and WhizKid categories).
• One template is to be submitted per participant/participating team.
• The teacher-in-charge will consolidate all the submissions into 1 file for his/her school.
• Please submit your file via www.wesendit.com or https://wetransfer.com/ to
sony.creative.science.award@gmail.com prior to the physical toy submission latest
by 3 August 2023.
• Alternatively, you may bring a memory device during submission of physical toys between
1 – 3 August 2023 for us to transfer the file to our computer.

Note
❖ Teachers can print the toy submission template if they want to but ultimately, a soft copy
version must be submitted to the organisers.

❖ The questions on the creative journal section serves as a guideline, students are free to
include more details of their toy making journey.

❖ Video of how the toy works can be inserted in this submission template as an
additional slide (optional). This will help the organisers understand how the toy works but
will not be used as part of scoring.

What inspires you to make your toy?

I was inspired to make this toy as I loved shooting and it’s always fun to have a war.

What makes your toy work? What scientific concept(s) does it demonstrate?
The rubber is under the state of tension and when your hands pull the rubber it’s
mechanical energy but the rubber holds potential energy and when pulled both the energy
converts to kinetic energy which shows the state of movement in the stick.

2. Regulations
Please submit one entry form for each toy.
All toys must be well-labelled physically with the name of the toy, name of the student(s) and
school. You are strongly encouraged to use the sticker labels provided by SCSA.
3. Each toy must be packages either in a transparent zip-lock bag or box (max size of 60cm x 60cm x
60cm). There must be only one toy per zip-lock bag or box (multiple toys, each in its zip-lock, can
be placed in a bigger box for transport purposes). Do not use staples, tape or glue to seal the bag
or box.
4. The toy will be judged based on its originality, creativity, design and sturdiness. All toys must be the
original works of the participants.
5. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence contesting the final decision will be
entertained.
6. The organisers reserve the right to retain, display and use the submitted toys for various publicity
purposes.
7. The organisers reserve the right to use images taken of the participants for promotion of the
competition.
