Brothers
You are performing the role of Edward. Focus on the shaded
part of the extract. Explain how you might use the
performance space and interact with the actor playing Mickey
to show the audience the tension between the two characters.

If I was performing the role of Edward in the shaded

section of the extract, me and the other performer
playing Mickey would interact with each other and
use the performance space to portray the tension
between the two characters.

When I perform the line “Yes, Mickey, I remember” I


would look up from the floor directly at the actor
playing Mickey and take one slow step towards him.
INTRO
As the other actor performs ‘Well, how come you got
everything and I got nothing?” he would shout this
line, moving the gun closer towards me. We would
use this as a reminder to the audience of the bond that
Edward and Mickey once shared.

scene. What impact could this have on your performance?
