PERSONAL REFLECTION AND GOALS FOR THE

FUTURE
PREFACE
Way back to the last days of me being Junior High School
student, I already made up my mind that I should be taking up
Humanities and Social Sciences strand for I know that it could
bring out the best in me and will help me overcome my fear of
public speaking and will hone my not-so-good skills in writing. In
a span of two years of being a HUMMS Student or aka
“Humanista” I have improved my socializing skills, able to
become a more responsible student and being aware to the social
issues our country is facing.
This portfolio serves as a throwback and an assessment to
myself on how much I grew from a very wallflower lady to a
sociable introvert and to look back how HUMSS has influenced
me.

This is one of our activity in
ISLAM IWRBS, in which we are tasked to
write Islam teachings that we can

Most of our activities in this quarter is more on writing and
self reflection. I really felt grateful for I have encountered this
type of activity where I can freely share and express what are the
thoughts that keeps on running in my mind especially this activity
tackles about some Islam teachings that I could integrate in my
life.

Most of my friends knew that I am very curious in exploring

or discovering the beauty and uniqueness of every religion of my
classmates. So glad that within the days of face to face classes, I
was able to know some of them and be able to reflect and apply
some of them to how I live my life each and everyday.
We are tasked to make a
CHRISTIANITY AND brochure about Christianity and to
CATHOLICISM fhfh what domination we belong

To be honest, I was expecting that this kind of activity will be
realized. I was really having fun while doing this because I was
able to share what I know about my religion and Christianity.
Some of the difficulties I’ve encountered while making this one is
the stability of my internet connection, because I downloaded
some images from the internet and gathered some informations
there because this kind of activity requires a more careful research
for the reason that this topic has many ideas that evolving over a
centuries ago.

In this subject area, it is very expected to make a brochure like this.
It should be creative and at the same time, informative. Mostly in this
subject we tackled about the social workers especially the counseling and
the counselors. Their career opportunities, competencies and their
accountabilities. We also have an activity in which we will interview
someone on what are their perceptions to the social workers in the
community.

This brochure also will serve as an appreciation to all counselors for

what they’ve done to keep every people company and keeping them
sane. Their hardwork and compassion towards serving people for the
good of everyone’s well-being is such a heroic act. We are also
encouraged to disseminate this brochure. Unfortunately, we are not on
the school settings so we just shared this to our social media accounts.

CTION
I remember this was our last act before the rise of COVID-19
pandemic. We don’t usually have a discussion for the reason that our
teacher is busy, but she still gives us activities to ponder and some
worksheets, good thing it was self-explanatory and our teacher never
fails to follow up everyone of us.

Creative Writing is not just about writing alone but also drama
play. I really had fun working with my groupmates that time, how we
made our props out of recycled materials, how we roamed around the
school premises just to find useful materials so that we will not spend
that much money. Our groupmates were very cooperative that’s why
we can say that our performance deserves a better rating. Despite the
pressure and misunderstanding we have that time with our members,
we still come up with a nice performance.
FREE We are tasked to do a free verse poem and
wrote it in our big yellow notebook.

I am very happy to know that we will be doing a Free Verse
Poem. I really had this poem I wrote in my 10th grade when I
decided just to put it in words instead of telling it to anyone the
feelings and anxieties I had.

Writing anything I want is my escape from this cruel world

I’m living in. My writing skills are not that good that’s why I
never let anyone read my works except to the people I’m really
close with. Due to this subject, I am slowly showing my works to
other people and they give me some tips on how to improve my
skills. I’m forever grateful to my friends in SHS for sparing their
wit and knowledge to me.

I wasn’t ready for this kind of activity. In fact, this is one of
my pet peeves, taking a videos of myself. Not gonna lie, I
really had a hard time composing myself just to face the
camera. But what I put into my mind is that my desire to share
one of my favorite movie. The moment our teacher gave us
this task, I felt excited and at the same time uncomfortable
because it involves of me facing a camera.

LEADERSHIP WEBINAR
WORKSHOP AND TRAINING
REFLE
CTION
In our Philippine Politics and Governance subject we always do reporting
and unfortunately, I don’t have any works from this subject that I have kept.
So, I decided to attach the certificate I received when I attended this webinar
because it is somewhat related to this subject. PPG also teaches us lessons on
how to become a better leader to keep everything in perfect harmony– even to
your small community.

It was initiated by the Division and the SSGs. The webinar tackles on how
to become an effective leader in this time of pandemic. The talk was given to
us by sir Raxey Adolfo. Although I’m not really joining some leadership
organization, my friends were always there guiding me whenever I have given
the chance to lead. I learned a lot from this webinar. I even jotted down notes
while listening.

CITIZENSHIP
We visited a small community there in my hometown
together with my family on my Lola’s side.
REFLE
CTION
The picture shown on the previous slide was my family when we go to
a small community there in Leyte. To be honest, the community engagement
I joined was from our church activities and we won’t took some pictures for
documentaries of it. Same also to my family, whenever we got a chance to
go back to Leyte, we don’t like to take pictures of what we did. We only just
took a picture when we were going to the place where we will give some
food bundles to the small families in there for Christimas and New Year.

Engaging in community outreach like this really makes my heart happy.

Not just because I am able to help, but because I see people happy with
what they received from our hard work and many months of saving money
to buy for their goods. It also made me realize that I should be grateful for
what I have right now.
PERSONAL
REFLECTION AND
GOALS FOR THE
FUTURE
LAWYER
The HUMSS strand revolves around improving a student’s reading,
writing, and speaking skills. People who choose this strand are aspiring
to become members of the society who will be dealing with a lot of
people. Honing these skills are crucial for them to establish effective
communication with people when they are working.
As an aspiring Lawyer, entering the HUMSS strand has helped me
in improving my skills to become one. I have this natural inclination to
stand for the rights of people especially to those who are voiceless and
unheard due to social status.
But for now, I have to understand that I must study harder and learn
more in our own respective journeys. It is only with an ample amount of
wit and knowledge that we could eventually get over the hump of being
passive.
Always remember your purpose. Do not let anyone tell you
otherwise. Cling on to your purpose on why you are doing this in the first
place. Never let your guard down on possibly encountering several
obstacles along the way.

Lastly, do whatever you can to have your morals intact.
