Present Perfect Tense

Present Perfect is one of the most commonly used tenses in English. It is used to
describe an action that happened in the recent past or continues up until now.
Forming Present Perfect

The present perfect is formed using the auxiliary verb "have" (or "has" for the third
person singular) plus the past participle of the main verb.

Here are a few examples:

I have studied English for five years.


She has traveled to many countries.
They have already eaten dinner.
Using Present Perfect

To describe an action that started in the past and continues up to the


present:
I have lived in New York for five years.
To describe an action that happened in the recent past but doesn't have a
specific time reference:
She has just finished her project.
To describe an action that happened in the past but has a connection to
the present:
They have bought a new house.
Signal Words

Some signal words that indicate the use of present Perfect are:

Already- уже I have already finished .


Yet- ещё I haven`t finished my work yet.
Just –только что I`ve just come home .
Ever – Have you ever been there ?
Never – I have never been there. I have never heard about it.
so far – I haven`t heard about it so far.
For -I have lived in New York for five years.
Since – We have know each other since childhood.
