Introduction

• Lifestyle diseases are diseases that people end up having due to their lifestyle choice.

• There are various lifestyle diseases namely : ( cancer and etc ). That are present in the world

• I chose STD ( HIV )


Intro : STD ( HIV )

• Human Immunodeficiency virus , aka HIV , is a very well known STD one of if not the most
common globally.
• A large group of people affected by the disease live in low and middle income countries.
• There are more than 20 million people who have Hiv in eastern and southern Africa.
• Contraction of the virus requires that someone who was infected gets treatment as well as
testing.
The causes
• HIV is caused by a virus , it can be transmitted via sexual contact ( penetration ) ,
unfacilitated injection , drug usage, contact with blood and etc.
• Without proper treatment HIV can worsen your health to a point whereby immune is
extremely weak.
Symptoms : Acute HIV
• Fever , Headache , Muscle ache , Rash , Weight Loss , Cough
Symptoms : HIV infection
• Fever , Fatigue , Diarrhoea and Pneumonia
• The biggest risk with HIV is that it can
evolve into AIDS , which would be very
detrimental for anyone's health.
• AIDS severely damages the immune
system.

Risk • Having an STI is a doorway for HIV to


enter your body , Having unprotected sex
and sharing of needles and syringes.

Factors • You're more likely to contract disease that


would not normally cause illness in a
healthy person.
Symptoms : Aids Progression
• Lesions on tongue or mouth , Sweats ,
Chills , Three bumps and etc.
• There is no cure for HIV/AIDS , once you have the
infection you cant get rid of it , however there are
meds that you can get to control HIV and prevent
complications

Treatment • These are ( ART ) , there are different categories of


drugs that block the virus in various ways
Care Options Starting Treatment :
• Everyone infected with HIV should be offered
antiviral medication
• The best way to remain healthy is to remain on art
with an undetectable viral load.

Benefits of ART are :
• Reduce your chances of getting an infection
• Keeps immune system strong
• Lowers the risk of you developing treatment resistant HIV
• Reduces chances of possible HIV transmission to others
Treatment :
Eat healthy food , Exercise , Avoid raw meat and eggs , Build a support group ( a strong
support system is key ) and Get right Vaccinations.
• Short term :
• Short term resistance training improves muscle
strength and body composition, Aerobic training
also improves cardiorespitory fitness and provides
a range of other benefits.

Exercise • Thus it helps to improve the quality of life for


people with HIV
effectiveness • Long term :
• Exercise will help boost the immune system ,
improves physical wellbeing and mental health.
• Most people with HIV tend to get increased blood
level and cholesterol , which pose long term threats
to health , but is managed through exercise.
Conclusion

• Always be protected at all times

• Look after yourself
